The Philippine Society of Baking (PSB) was the brainchild of Mr. Plutarco “Boy” Ng. He called the help the former co-members of the American Society Bakery Engineers – Philippine Chapter to organize PSB into a Group in February 2005.
To boost the credentials of the newly formed group, Mr. Boy Ng enlisted all known graduates of the American Institute of Baking (AIB). The first move of the group was to organize a Pest Control Seminar, which was attended by 96 people from all over the Philippine Baking Industry.
The founding President of the Philippine Society of Baking is Mr. Bien Enrico Ah. An AIB graduate (Dec 19??) and a Food Technology Graduate from UST, he took the initiative in setting the goals of the new association. With his ideals of improving the baking standards in the Philippines, he organized 2-3 day technical baking seminars, noodle seminars, Bakery Management seminar, and others. He also ingrained the vision of conducting livelihood programs within and outside of Metro Manila.
In 2007, Mr. Christopher Ong also a graduate of AIB (Dec 2000), succeeded Mr. Ah as President of the Philippine Society of Baking. Besides continuing on the legacy of the founding president, Mr. Ong’s term managed to diversify in the seminar contents like Bakery computerization seminars, Premix seminar, and Loaf Technology seminar.
He also included an extra curricular fund raising activity, the PSB Badminton Fiesta. A one- day competition designed to bring together novice and expert players for a fun -filled day for a cause.
In 2009, Mr. Alejandro Paez became the third President of the Philippine Society of Baking. Being the National Technical Sales Manager of a leading flour milling company, he managed to increase the membership of the Society during his term while continuing to add diversity to the seminars like Steam Bun technology, Cake Decoration, and Pizza Technology seminar.
In his term, the Filipino Chinese Bakery Association (FCBAI) sought the cooperation of PSB to handle the training aspect of TESDA of which Baking is one of their categories. The PSB managed to teach almost 200 students as well as to upgrade the skills of TESDA baking instructors.
Since 2005, five presidents has led the development of the Society:

- Christopher Ong, 2007 to 2009
- Alejandro Paez, 2009 to 2011
- Lucito Chavez, 2011 to 2013
- Jerry Midel, 2013 to 2015
- Christopher Ah, 2015 to 2017
